Privacy Policy
Gemhollow was previously published as Pixel MineR. It is the same application, the same developer and the same package — only the name and branding changed. Existing save data and purchases carried over untouched.
1. Summary
Your game progress lives on your device. The application does not ask for, and does not send us, your name, address, phone number or email address. It does use a number of Google and Unity services that collect device-level and usage data of their own — for advertising, analytics, crash reporting, purchases and optional cloud saves. Each one is listed individually in section 3.
2. Data stored on your device
Your inventory, currency, unlocked items, gear levels, pets, quest progress and settings are written to the application's private storage on your phone or tablet. This data is not transmitted to us.
Uninstalling the application removes it, and clearing the application's data removes it. Neither is reversible from our side, because we never held a copy — unless you have enabled cloud saves, which are described in section 4.
3. Third-party services
The application integrates the services below. We do not control their data collection or practices, and we encourage you to review their policies. Where one of them collects an identifier, it is a device or advertising identifier — not an identifier you gave us.
| Service | Used for | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Serving rewarded and interstitial adverts. May use your device's advertising ID to personalise them. | Google Ads |
| Unity Ads | An additional advert source, served through AdMob mediation. | Unity |
| Google User Messaging Platform | Presenting the advertising consent form required in your region, and recording your choice. | |
| Firebase Analytics | Aggregate usage data — which screens are opened, how far players progress — so we can find where the game is confusing or broken. | Firebase |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Automatic crash and error reports, including device model, operating system version and a stack trace. | Firebase |
| Google Play Billing | Processing in-app purchases. Google handles the transaction; we receive only confirmation that a purchase completed, never your card details. | |
| Google Play Games Services | Achievements, leaderboards and optional cloud saves. | |
| Google Play Install Referrer | Identifying which link or referral an install came from, so the in-game referral reward can be granted. | |
| Google Play In-App Review | Showing the native "rate this game" prompt. |
4. Cloud saves
If you sign in to Google Play Games, the application can store a copy of your save in your Google account so that it survives a reinstall or a move to a new device. That copy is held by Google under your own account, not by us, and only exists once you have signed in and used the feature. Signing out stops further syncing.
5. Permissions the application requests
- Internet — adverts, purchases, analytics and cloud saves.
- Vibrate — haptic feedback when you break a block or take damage.
- Billing — in-app purchases.
- Advertising ID — advert delivery and frequency capping.
- Notifications — optional reminders, such as when your robot miners have finished a shift. You can refuse or revoke this at any time in your device settings.
- Run at startup — so a reminder you have already scheduled survives a reboot.
6. Adverts are optional
Rewarded adverts in Gemhollow are opt-in: you choose to watch one in exchange for a bonus, and declining still grants a smaller reward rather than nothing at all. No progress in the game is gated behind watching an advert.
7. Your choices
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android's settings, under Privacy → Ads.
- Change your advertising consent choice where a consent form applies in your region.
- Turn notifications for the application off in your device settings.
- Sign out of Google Play Games to stop cloud saving.
- Uninstall the application to remove all locally stored progress.
8. Data security
Because progress is stored locally, the security of that data is tied to the security of your device. We take reasonable measures within the application's code to protect the integrity of the save file, but no method of electronic storage is completely secure.
9. Children's privacy
The application is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take the necessary action.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on this page, and the "last updated" date above will change to match. You are advised to review this page periodically.
